A Day of Irish Literature, Music, and Art

Local young adult mystery writer T.M. Murphy will be signing copies of his latest book "The Secrets of the Twisted Cross" at the Celtic Bliss Gallery in Falmouth Heights on Sunday, August 25 at 4pm. Murphy's "The Secrets of Belltown," the first in the six book series chronicling the adventures of Orville Jacques, a teenage sleuth from a town loosely based on Falmouth, is currently being optioned as a live action film.

Local musicians Bill and Pat Black will be performing traditional and original Irish music. The husband and wife duo recently performed at the Gallery's grand opening on July 7.

In addition, local mural artist Neil Collins will be on hand to display his artistry, featuring an evening scene of the Belltower in Woods Hole, as painted from a photograph by Sarah Murphy.

"Since there is such a large Irish population on the Cape, we're aiming to create a sort of Celtic cultural center," said proprietor Sarah Murphy, writer and photoartist, who runs the gallery with her sister Joanna. "There is a common stereotype often placed on the Irish, as if we have only one given talent. We'd like to dispel that myth by allowing people to showcase their creativity." Ms. Murphy is currently conducting a Creative Writing workshop for young adults at the Gallery.
